I’m Adam.

I’m currently studying for a PhD in music and philosophy at the University of Liverpool specialising in music in audio-visual media, specifically: The use of sound and music in Transcendental Cinema supported by the AHRC 2014.  I hold a Masters degree in Music (MMUS) and a BA (hons) in Music from the University of Liverpool as well.

My first book was released in 2017.  It’s called Folk Horror: Hours Dreadful and Things Strange.  It was published by Auteur and Columbia University Press and is available here.  Reviews:

My main passions are for Film and Art, in particular: Folk Horror, Landscape in Film and Literature, Film Music And Sound Analysis, British Art House (Jarman, Greenaway, Davies, Potter, Douglas etc) and Cult Cinema (BFI Flipside, Counterculture Film and Television, Hammer Horror etc), and World Auteur Cinema (Tarkovsky, Godard, Ozu, Akerman, Bergman etc.).
